Weigh First Before You Sell Gold
Before you sell gold coins or jewelleries, you must first assess the value of your gold using the following steps:
1. Get the gram weight of the gold. Your scrap gold can use some calculations of its base value by means of determining its total weight first. To do this, simply get a scale, calibrate it to “0″, place the scrap gold on the pan and weigh it carefully. It’s better to use a jeweller’s scale, which costs no more than 50 dollars from online stores. A food scale can be used as an alternative, though.
2. When weighing, make sure the scrap gold items are classified and weighed together according to their karat. Of course, gold items of different karat also differ in value, wherever you sell gold.
3. Multiply the weight of your scrap gold (in grams) to the current price of gold (in USD per gram). Include the decimal places of the gold’s weight when multiplying to get the exact value of the gold.
