2012 Acura TL – Better Engine and Variety in Upgrade Packages
In spite of the fact that 2012 Acura TL models present only two engine choices, there is a still a lot of reason to rejoice especially since there are many different trims and optional features on offer. Plus, these engines do not suffer from the same afflictions as their previous year models and as such provide a more robust performance with some remarkable handling and power efficiency numbers on their side. It seems Acura has finally learnt its lessons from its past misadventures and as such it has turned over a new leaf in the 2012 TL as it tries to woo in more customers this time around. The Base models feature a 3.5 liter V-6 variant with the ability to crank up 280 horsepower when needed.
This when seen in light of the 254 pound-feet of torque that is transferred to the front wheels, only translates to better driving experience right from the starting range of Acura’s 2012 TL lineup. The next in line is the larger V-6 engine with 3.7L fuel intake capacity. It is available in the more pricy SH-AWD variant and has the capability of delivering 305hp and close to 273 lb-feet of torque. Compared to a similar specification in the 2011 model, there is however, a notable reduction in the overall piston friction thereby resulting in the slight increase of power output.
